WORKSHOP ON NEGOTIATION AND GENDER FOR WOMEN TRADE UNIONISTS IN CÓRDOBA 31/5/2022 al 1/6/2022
On May 31st and June 1st, in the city of Córdoba, the Foro del Sur Foundation, together with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, was hold an Experience-Based Workshop on Negotiation and Gender for Women Trade Unionists, run by professors Florencia Brandoni and Andrea Finkelstein.
Negotiations are a perfect field to reproduce some stereotypes that tend to place women in initial disadvantaged positions and question the legitimacy of their aspirations when defending their interests, such as leadership, strengthening inequality in the world of work. This workshop is intended as a space that fosters empathy among women, who are invited to share experiences and to work together on new tools to become aware of and overcome the obstacles resulting from gender stereotypes.
The event brought together 40 trade unionists from the province of Córdoba, who are members of the following unions: A.G.E.P.J.- Judiciary Workers of Córdoba, ADIUC - University Professors and Researchers of Córdoba, APOC- Control Agencies Workers Association, ATE-Civil Servants Association, CTA Autónoma, SATSAID- Argentine Union of Television, Audio Visual, Interactive and Data Workers, SEIVARA- Glass Industry Workers Union, SGBATOS - Public Works Union of Greater Buenos Aires, STIA- Union of Food Industry Workers of Córdoba, SIRELYF - Luz y Fuerza Regional Union, SMATA- Union of Mechanics and Transport Workers, UEJN- Union of National Judiciary Workers, UPACP-Union of Domestic Workers, UTEDYC - Union of Sports and Civil Institutions, and UTHGRA - Union of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Workers of the Argentine Republic.
