Y2K INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR: GLOBAL CRISIS, LOCAL IMPACT
In September 1999, the Foro del Sur Foundation held an International Seminar for journalists from the Southern Cone titled "Y2K: Global Crisis, Local Impact", which was held at the Hotel Presidente in the city of Buenos Aires and in which it was possible to discuss the computer problem of the year 2000 (Y2K Bug). At the Seminar’s organization participated the Dante B. Fascell North-South Center of the University of Miami; the Press Institute of the Inter-American Press Association; Microsoft Argentina and Visa International; and it was co-sponsored by the InfoDEV Program of the World Bank.
