Caroline Fourest, essayist, film director and political science professor, was invited by the Foro del Sur Foundation to talk with a group of gender equality activists and intellectuals. Taking her book Offended Generation as a starting point, they exchanged experiences and concepts on the issue of the policy of cancellation, especially as a recurrent practice among young people.
The French writer, a prominent contributor with Charlie Hebdo, Le Monde, and the Huffington Post, has pursued a career in contemporary ideas on the right-wing extremism, multiculturalism, and fundamentalism.
Participants in the round table discussion included Dora Barrancos, researcher, sociologist, historian, educator and feminist; Mabel Bianco, feminist doctor, president of the Coalition of Women and AIDS; Lucía Cholakian, journalist specialized in issues related to gender, human rights, politics and culture; Sandra Veronica Guagnino, prosecutor of the Crime and Misdemeanors Chamber of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Judiciary of the City of Buenos Aires and founding member of the Association of Women Judges of Argentina; Natália Gherardi, Executive Director of the Latin American Justice and Gender Team; Patricia Gómez, Secretary of Research of the Argentine Network of Gender, Science and Technology; Daniel Link, Director of the MA in Latin American Literary Studies and the Program of Contemporary and Comparative Latin American Studies at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero; Anny Ocoro Loango, CONICET researcher specialized in educational policies with an ethnic-racial and gender perspective; Mariano López Seoane, Director of the MA in Gender Studies and Policies at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero; Gaby Messina, Argentine visual artist; and Diana Wechsler, Director of the Institute for Research in Art and Culture Dr. Norberto Griffa.
