2016 projects and activities' agenda
Within the series of activities that Foro del Sur Foundation usually organizes, we are pleased to share some of our main projects and activities for 2016.
• COURSES
In April, the first course on Japanese aesthetics, taught by Lic. Mami Goda, will begin. Born in Japan, trained in Philosophy at the prestigious French university Paris-Sorbonne and the Louvre School, Mrs. Goda is a specialist on art. She has worked in auction houses in Paris and in Tokyo, and she currently resides in Buenos Aires where she works as a Japanese teacher, interpreter and translator. Since 2013, she has written the Japanese community’s newspaper La Plata Hochi and has collaborated in different graphic media.
• CYCLE ON SUCCESSFUL WOMEN
At the Foro del Sur Foundation, we firmly believe in the transformative potential of women and we are particularly interested in sharing various successful initiatives in areas that are still little explored. Throughout the year, we will have the presence of successful women who will share their experience at the head of various ventures and/or companies. Our objective is to create a space in which these experiences can be shared and provide a networking platform.
• EXPERTS CYCLE
The "Cycle of Experts" consists of a series of meetings in which specialists in various disciplines will address a series of relevant topics in current national and international debates. Some of the topics that will be addressed throughout the year are the role of the media in political changes both in our country and in the region, climate change and sustainable development, new information technologies and its impact on the value of social dialogue and neuroscience applied to economic activity (also known as "neuromanagement"), amongst others.
• STRATEGIC ALLIANCES
As from April, a strategic agreement between the Southern Forum Foundation and Open Democracy, Open Democracy’s Latin American platform, will begin to be operational. The Foundation thus becomes the focal point of Open Democracy in the Southern Cone through the promotion and dissemination of various articles of interest. Within the framework of this agreement, the launch event will be held on April 18, at the Foundation headquarters.
• YOUNG LEADERS PROJECT
The Foro del Sur Foundation carries out a project of bilateral meetings between young, outstanding in various areas, Argentinians, with peers from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. During 2016, the II Argentina-Brazil Young Leaders Forum will be held in the City of Buenos Aires, thus continuing the first edition in Rio de Janeiro in 2015.
• ROA PROJECT
The "Action-Oriented Reflection"/ROA Project consists of a series of research and training activities through which the Foro del Sur Foundation summons specialists in international relations with the aim of generating a space for discussion and debate, that is able to propose concrete actions in the governmental and business field. It is about generating a contribution in the area of regional integration, analyzing local and regional experiences of thought and reflection oriented to international action, and how to promote the development of joint work networks among the existing networks in the countries of the region.
